Walt Reca is DB Cooper - Follow the Evidence.

I'm convinced Walt Reca is D.B. Cooper based on Walt's confession, a very credible eye witness, independent and verified corroboration of Walt's confession, my analysis of the taped confession/statements recorded by the very credible and late Carl Laurin, and all the circumstantial evidence.

Yes, the drop spot is not in line with published reports. I ask you to ponder this question: If you were the FBI, would you want to publish the exact flight line and risk having hundreds of people searching the possible crime scene where there may be $200,000 in cash?

As you know, Cooper, in Seattle, demanded the plane fly slowly at a maximum 10,000 feet altitude. I interviewed a veteran commercial pilot (Jeff Wierenga, with more than 1500 hours of flight time) who flew out of Seattle on 737 and 727 planes on the same route. Wierenga stated: "I wouldn't fly the FBI's given flight path because at some point you would have to cross the spine of the Sierra Mountain range, which is over 12,000 feet on average. The Cascade Mountain range near Cle Elum, Washington, has an average elevation below 10,000 feet."

Couple that comment with the weather being cold, windy, and poor visibility. And, in those days, radar was still fairly rudimentary. Given these issues, the published flight route cannot be a determinate factor.

Mike Halkovich Hi Joe Koenig Anything new concerning the Jimmy Hoffa case? Do you think the Hoffa or DBC case is more difficult? Thanks.

Thanks, Mike. Great question. To my knowledge, there is nothing new on the Hoffa case. Remember, though, I retired from MSP in 1993. The cases are very different. Both were massive and complex cases. I was assigned as lead investigator the day after Hoffa was reported missing, so there were exigent circumstances. I worked the Cooper case as a cold case, with few time pressures and no exigency. Both were and are very difficult. Finally, several former prosecutors, like the one I posted from the late and famous L. Brooks Patterson, reviewed my case facts and concluded they would have indicted Walt as D.B. Cooper. Walt Reca is D.B. Cooper

“Joe Koenig’s meticulous assessment of the case against or for Walt Reca as D.B. Cooper is objective, deep and highly persuasive. It should be a model for writers of critical analyses of other cases yet to be offered of other mysteries. Precious few of the tens of thousands of police reports I have reviewed as federal and state prosecutor match this work.”

John Smietanka, Former US Attorney and Principal Associate Deputy US Attorney General

Walt is D.B. Cooper

“Unequivocally, Joe Koenig provides a powerful case that Walt Reca is D.B. Cooper. Koenig’s well-reasoned analysis makes a very strong case that any prosecutor would consider. Joe Koenig’s objective analysis leaves little doubt that Walt Reca is D.B. Cooper.”

Michael D. Robinson, Director, Michigan State Police, retired and Past President, International Association of Chiefs of Police
